寰宇10月13日 大秦帝国 看了几集大秦帝国，想起来高中学的“过秦论”: 秦孝公据崤函之固，拥雍州之地，君臣固守以窥周室，有席卷天下，包举宇内，囊括四海之意，并吞八荒之心。当是时也，商君佐之，内立法度，务耕织，修守战之具，外连衡而斗诸侯。于是秦人拱手而取西河之外。嬴渠梁的气魄、胸怀、远见、大刀阔斧的干劲，让人钦佩。最弱小的秦国，韬光养晦，几度变法，蓄势而待发，终于一统天下。世事变迁，瞬息而万变。想想魏国刚开始是如何的不可一世，魏王只重出身，不看才能，白白错失了公子鞅这样的人才。倒是秦孝公不拘一格，知人善任，在鞅的辅佐之下成就了霸业。 Prison Break让人审美疲劳了。还是中国的历史剧让人清醒。 General Election今天是两党候选人的第一次公开辩论。家里还没电视，网上找了半天，也没看到。离大选还有不到6周，能亲身感受美国人的政治热情，还是很有意思的。
前两天，收到Brent的邮件，他在奥巴马的竞选阵营作volunteer, 忙得不可开交，连工作也推迟了。老婆毕业前，在pittsburgh和Brent, Diana姑姑一起吃饭，当时正是民主党党内提名，他说开车去南部的一个州，帮奥巴马拉选票了，挨家挨户去送选举广告，在社区里举牌子，做民意调查，当然也挨了不少“希饭”们的白眼。Brent很认真的说，现在到了一个关键的时候，美国很快就要开始任命新的大法官，现在的几位岁数都太大了，虽然是终身制的，很快也要退了不再参与实际工作，要是共和党人掌权的话，估计他们的政策不会有大的调整，只有民主党上台，美国才能在未来几年内有新的改变。所以这应该是美国最近30年来最重要的一次选举。他说遇到了一个老人，那个人告诉他上次投票是在60年代，不过这次一定要投了。
我很清楚，Brent作的这些都是volunteer,完全是出自自己的意愿。实际上，我所知道的Brent并不是一个特别喜欢政治的人，因为他去年在D.C.实习后，接连拒掉了几个那儿的offer, 选择了自己喜欢的teaching, 作一个高中老师。从这点来看的话，今天他所做的工作，只是出于一个普通美国人的个人立场。这就是美国人的选举热情吧。
暑假的一天，和以前的室友和他的几个朋友一起吃饭，正好那天是希拉里正式宣布退出，知道他们都投了奥巴马....Change确实是一个好的竞选口号.
总的感觉，奥巴马会赢得这场胜利，拭目以待吧！
9月25日 已经过去了三周 从国内回来，每天的schedule安排得很满。 连夜赶完Data Mining的project之后，总算可以喘口气了。这周六打算和Kang一起看football, Penn State V.S. Illinois, 主场里还算有点看头的。上次对Oregan State, 没找着一块儿去的，一个人站了3个多小时，没劲。 从Office Depot买了两个书桌，Sam's Club搞到了两把转椅，全部是我一个人组装的，前后费了工时9个钟头，估计加起来有上百个部件。从四个扁的盒子，变成了和封面上一样的桌子椅子，看着也觉得挺有成就感。老美的这些玩艺，只要按着说明书一步步来，其实也挺简单，中间装错折腾了两回，主要是自做聪明。老婆很喜欢她的小space~~~ 和静沿着waupelani Dr.跑了两次，感觉不错，比在Gym里强多了，得继续坚持。 老婆，下周就要考LSAT了，加油！ 9月18日 重新开张不知道从啥时候起，这块自留地开始荒芜了，生活的点点滴滴伴随着快节奏全部蒸发了。太长时间没写下什么了，有空闲时间浏览那些不痛不痒的新闻消息，却不能抽点时间梳理一下自己的思路和感受。暑假从国内回来后，还是有不少新的体会，感受了进步也看清了差距。不管是国家还是个人，在全力奔跑冲向目标的时候，有的时候也要适时调整，捕捉新的信息，吸取他人的经验。 1月1日 哈佛图书馆自习室墙上的训言1.此刻打盹，你将做梦；而此刻学习，你将圆梦。
